Numeracy Highlights: We continued working in symmetry this week. We had to draw our initials on squared paper and draw the reflected image on a vertical and horizontal axis of symmetry.

We also had to find the missing numbers on a number line from 0 to 1,000,000.

Literacy : We have started our new writing unit – The Information Report. For our first task, we had to identify the audience, key facts , and the purpose of an information report. We had a great discussion about whom the audience might be for the examples of information reports we were using. Our audience was not going to be ‘ people’ or  just ‘ kids’. We came to understand that we had to be specific about the age of our audience and for these texts, our audience could also be teachers looking for good examples!

 

Pupil Highlights:

Grace – I liked doing enterprise it was so much fun, we got to work as a team it was so much fun.

Tiwa: I liked doing the clay beause it was so much fun to create stuff.

Deveena-symmetry because she loved doing symetry

Aadya loved doing information reports especially discussing whom the audience might be.

Hasika- liked doing the clay art thing because it was fun to test my creativity.

 

Teacher Highlights:

I am so proud of how committed every group is in creating their products for the enterprise. We are working so hard as a team, sharing resources and perseverance. It is a joy to have such a creative  and responsible class this year.
