On Monday, we celebrated International Dot Day which promotes creativity. We read the story The Dot and we then used lots of different art materials to create our own dots. We had great fun! We then put them up with the other classes in the infant area to create a display.

In Maths, we have been learning about the numbers 8 and 9. Ask us how we know if a ten frame has nine. We can do this very quickly!

In Literacy, we have been learning about the letter s. We made the letter using our playdough and practised writing it on the tablets. We wrote a sentence beginning with all our common words ‘I can see..’. We used a picture of a farm as inspiration to complete the sentence.

In RE, we have been learning all about the different liturgical colours.

During PE this week we have been learning about moving in different ways. We flew to the moon and became astronauts and we had to walk very slowly. If we fell in a crater we had to crawl and we learned three different crawls. Baby, bear and crab. Ask us to demonstrate these for you! We then did some team relay races using all the different things we had learned.

In Science, we have been learning about our sense of sight. We used our sense of sight to spot the differences in two pictures on Seesaw. We then played a game where 6 different items were on the floor, then  2 people went out of the classroom and Miss Stebbing hid one of the items. We had to look and see which item was missing. It was fun and we got them all right! We then learned about the role of an optometrist and we designed our own glasses.

Here are some of our personal highlights this week:

Freya – I enjoyed using the numicon.

Alfie- I enjoyed doing the letter s.

Tejasvi – I enjoyed making the glasses.

Mikayla – I enjoyed ERIC time.

Carson – I enjoyed making a plane.

Amelia – I enjoyed writing ‘I can see…’

Have a lovely holiday weekend everyone!
