Dear Readers,

Welcome to our blog!

We hope you are all having a great weekend. This week has been a busy one for P6B, as usual!😂

The following highlights of the week have been chosen by the children and they don’t reflect everything that we have done but the things they have enjoyed the most and that they could still remember, since they tend to forget a lot about what happens throughout the week and remember mostly what they have done in the final two days of the week, which is when they are asked about the highlights for the blog.

Here are the highlights of our week in P6B, according to P6B:

  • All the activities with the Spelling Words of the Week, including looking up for the meanings in the dictionary, sentences with more than one of the spelling words in the same sentence, word families, root words exercises, rainbow writing and finally, on Friday, the Weekly Spelling Assessment, to check who is going to get 14 out of 14!
  • Maths adding with whole numbers to a million and decimal numbers to the thousandths, although some still need a lot more practice to feel confident doing it!
  • Big Maths, Beat That! on Friday, to check who managed to beat their last week’s score and, in some cases, move on to the next level! They love to dance to the sound of Big Maths, Beat That!🤣🤣💃🕺
  • Learning about what a Narrative is and the features needed to write good quality narratives. We have used a Mountain to exemplify the different parts of the Narrative: Opening, Build-up, Dilemma/Problem, Resolution and Closing. They felt this made sense and have planned their narratives which they will write this coming week during our writing session.
  • Participating in the Upper Area Service to honour the Holy Name of Mary with P6A, P7A and P7B and colouring in the pictures of Mary to participate in an Area challenge where the five best from each class will be displayed in the Area’s RE display during the month of October, one of the months that we dedicate to Our Lady.
  • Gardening in the school grounds, which was hard work but left many feeling very proud of themselves!🌱🌿
  • The whole class seemed to have enjoyed a lot accessing the Pixton.com app to create their avatars and become part of our avatar class! It is very funny and when everyone joins in, something that hasn’t been possible yet due to technical issues, we will be able to make stories with the children as characters, which we all think will be amazing! We got the idea from P6A and Mr. Pentland, to whom we thank a lot!😊
  • On Friday we have had the football trials and almost everyone from the class participated, so good luck to all!
  • Finally, we would like to congratulate the Hot Chocolate of the first three weeks of school:
  • Miss Olivia! 🥇Well done! Super behaviour and lovely attitude towards learning!😍
  • Miss Georgia ! 🥇Well done! Always willing to help with a beautiful smile!😍
  • Mr David! 🥇Well done! A sweet ‘gentleman’ always kind and willing to do the best he can!😍

We would also like to congratulate the winning tables of the last three weeks and remind all boys and girls to keep up with the good work, tidiness and good behaviour!

We say goodbye for now wishing everyone a super weekend with their loved ones!

Mrs Valente and P6B😘😘
