P4B Maths Challenge Week

This week we have been undertaking lots of Maths challenges.

We had to design and make a bridge for the Gingerbread Man to cross the river. We could only use 15 straws and selotape. It had to hold the weight of a rubber and cross a river that was 40cm wide.

Olly – I really liked making the bridges because it was a challenge for us.

We also learned about measure and used rulers, measuring tapes and metre sticks to measure different things around the classroom.

Liam – I liked measuring around the classroom because it was fun.

Our final challenge this week was to work in pairs to design and make a maths game. There was lots of good discussion over possible themes and great excitement when making the game board.

Sophie – I liked designing the game because I love drawing.
