This has been another very busy week of learning across the curriculum for Primary 5B. We have booked our trip to John Muir Country Park, Dunbar, where we will walk in the footsteps of John Muir and see some of the things he saw as a child. On Wednesday it was World Water Day and we explored how important having enough water in our lives everyday. We discussed how this linked with with Childrens Rights Articles 24 and 27 as well as Global Goal 6, everyone having enough clean water for their needs by 2030.

We had visitors come in and observe our Reading Activities on Tuesday, they were very impressed with our learning focus.

We continued to learn about our local environment and John Muir. We created clay birds and painted them to show the different range of birds we see in our local environment. We also carried out an outdoor Blether Activity when we worked in trios to clarify our understanding of John Muir and his ideas about protecting the environment. The weather was sunny, but windy, we had a great time running

around with our friends.

In our Religious Education lessons this week, we discussed why it is important during the period of lent to show extra love and kindness to others and and turn away from bad things in our life. We also learned about the 14 stations of the cross and how Jesus loved us so much he gave himself up to die to forgive our sins. We also learned a little bit about the Holy Month of Ramadan which started this week.
