This week in we explored Article 35 which states that, Governments must protect children from being abducted, sold or moved illegally to a different place in or outside their country for the purpose of exploitation.
We discussed “How do you keep yourself safe at home, at school and in the community..”
In math, we continued learning how to find fractions of amounts by dividing by denominators and multiplying by numerators. This is very tricky but we are all becoming more confident. We also took part in the West Lothian Sumdog competition and we were 10th overall across all the schools and classes in West Lothian.
In literacy, we have been focussing on developing different reading strategies – clarifying, questioning, predicting and summarising what we read.
Some of us have finished our John Muir Powerpoints but some are still working on them, hopefully finishing them next week. Due to the heavy rain we decided to paint our wooden posts and mini seats. We managed to get a first coat on but will put a second coat next week before decorating with positive messages and pictures of nature. We also decorated small wooden discs to hang around the school to make people feel happy.
Next week we start a competition to wheel or walk to school. We are due to have a new bike shed erected during the Easter Holidays and we hope for more children to cycle to school.
