P1A Learning Highlights 4th March 2022

This week we have been learning the sound ‘sh’.  We wrote words that had ‘sh’ at the beginning and the end.  We celebrated World Book Day and we read the book ‘Robot Rumpus’.  We designed a new front cover.  Our mystery reader was Mrs McLaughlin and she read us a story about someone stealing jewels.

In maths we were programming the Beebots and we had to test them out.  We had to make them go forward, backwards, left and right.  We always have to remember to press the x before we put in the instructions.

On Tuesday we had pancakes and made a graph to show our favourite toppings.  We also learned about halves and quarters.  We carefully cut our pancakes and then we got to eat them!

In RE we have been learning about Lent and Ash Wednesday.  We enjoyed watching the video of Fr Simon burning the palm crosses to make the ashes.  We had an assembly about the SCIAF Wee Box.  We have our box ready for the coins.

Our personal learning highlights from this week are:

Diana – I enjoyed learning about writing sentences.

Zion – I enjoyed listening to the Robot Rumpus story.

Caleb – I enjoyed learning in creative zone.

Shay – I enjoyed playing outside.

Rory – I enjoyed learning with the Numberblocks.

Vivien – I enjoyed learning how to cut in creative zone.

Chimamanda – I enjoyed learning to use the Beebots.

Jiade – I enjoyed my free writing time.
