Primary 6A Weekly update

Another busy week in primary 6 with lots of fun and learning together.

Lead learners: Our lead learners Erin and Maria set 3 targets for us to work on this week. This has helped us to focus on being ready, respectful and safe. They were also responsible for awarding house points for achieving the targets set.

Health and Well being: We have been working with Mrs McLaughlin to discuss our emotions and what triggers us.

Literacy: This week we created wanted posters for Guy Fawkes after learning about the Gunpowder plot. We also discussed advice for keeping safe when using fireworks.

Maths: We completed an assessment on decimals to see how much we could remember from last term and have been successfully learning how to convert decimals into percentages and fractions. We were also finding a fraction of a shape and a number. We know our times tables help when finding a fraction of a number, therefore, we have been working on our tables too by playing around the world.

Art: Last week we used oil pastels to create our Halloween cat pictures and this week we used paint and oil pastels to create our firework art.

Outdoor learning: We have been working in pairs and trios to create spider webs using sticks and wool. After trial and error we learned the importance of working together to hold everything in place and tie secure knots.

Over and above: Well done to our over and above winner Erin!

Have a great weekend and stay safe,

Mrs Roy
