Hello P3 families!
The learning highlights this week come from ‘Broxburn’.
Maks has enjoyed demonstrating his understanding of subtraction. P3 have moved on to subtracting 2 digit numbers from 2 digit numbers with exchanging. Maks’ favourite subject is maths and he looks forward to it everyday and enjoys being challenged.
Both Maja and Danvith report how our class visit from the SSPCA was their favourite part of their week. Last term when the children were exploring Scottish wild animals when the role of the SSPCA was risen. The children expressed an interest in learning more about this important charity. A volunteer came and spoke to us about the important job they do.
Sophia liked Spanish with Mrs Broadley.
Matteo and Daniel both loved our outdoor learning session in a local woodland. For the next 2 Wednesdays (which we call Wellie Wednesdays), P3 will enjoy free play in the local woodland. It was marvellous to see the creative play there and the resilience building while children climbed trees and balanced as they walked along felled trees and teamwork as they supported on another. Unfortunately I forgot to bring my ipad but will be sure to pack it next week and capture some pictures for you to enjoy.
My highlight was when we learned about Judaism, the religion Jesus was born in to. The children watched a video of a young boy talking about his faith. We made comparisons with our faith. As a follow up, the children made mezuzahs with a special prayer inside and Jewish symbols on the outside. Ask your child about the different symbols and what they mean.
Congratulations to our hot chocolate award winner Nathan!
