This week we have been learning the sounds ‘v’ and ‘x’. We wrote a sentence about a box in a van and had to listen carefully to the sounds. We also have been practising finding the middle sounds in words and used a game on the Smartboard to help us with this.
In maths, we have been learning about counting in 10s. We had to order the numbers correctly and then we had to take away one card from another group to see if they knew which number was missing. We also learned about fact families and made 2 addition and 2 subtraction sums with the three numbers.
Throughout this week we have been learning all about Burns Night. We have been learning lots of Scots words and enjoyed doing some songs and stories with these. Ask us what words we remember.
In PE, we have been learning to do different types of rolls. We learned a pencil roll, tuck or egg roll, dish roll, teddy bear roll and James Bond roll.
On Friday, we celebrated 100 days of Primary 1. We took part in a challenge to be creative to make things with 100 objects, made crowns, took part in a 100 hunt outdoors with our Buddies and got to make a 100 snack take home to share with our families. We all agreed that this was the highlight of our week!
Congratulations to Carson who is our Hot Chocolate winner this week. He has shown got skills in counting objects during our maths lessons. Well done to our Reading Champion who has been confidently reading in a small group.
