Hello,

We’ve had a fantastic start to our new topic Scotland, and the children have already shown great enthusiasm and curiosity. We have been focusing on the different famous landmarks in Scotland and why they are important to this country.

In maths this week, we’ve been learning about multiplication (2-5 timestable) with moving around the classroom to help us challenge our classmates. Our literacy work this week has centred around -ing and -ed endings. We have been identifying these in words, practising spelling patterns, and using them in their own sentences.

This week we also spent some time learning knot tying, which we have all really enjoyed. We practised making simple knots and talked about why knots are useful in everyday life, from tying shoelaces to helping in outdoor activities.
