This week we have been celebrating Book Week Scotland. We all got a special Book Bug Bag and we have been doing lots of different activities linked to each book.

For Holey Moley, we had to match the rhyming words and we designed our own Mole Hotels. We also made pictures of trees using green triangles that matched the pictures in the book.

For One Goose Two Moose, we measured how tall we were with ice creams and even designed our own dream ice cream. We had the Ice Cream Olympics during PE and we had great fun. On Thursday we went for a walk to Morrisons with P1A and we bought ice cream.

For My Pet Star, we drew our own pet and wrote a sentence. We had some very creative ideas, including a pet rainbow and a piranha. We talked about the importance of sleep and designed our own pyjamas. We also talked about day and night and sorted different routines.

Throughout the week we have been reading in lots of different places. We went to the staffroom, our buddies’ classroom and Mrs McKissack’s office. We also got to spend some time reading with our P5 Reading Buddies.

On Friday, it was lovely to have our families in for our Book Week Assembly. We had lots of fun decorating a star, making moose antlers and going on a rhyming word hunt.

The highlight of Book Week was getting to eat our ice cream!

Congratulations to Oliver, who is our Hot Chocolate Winner. He has been listening and following instructions well and did a fantastic piece of writing.
