This week has been very busy! We have been practising for our Nativity and on Friday we got to wear our costumes on the stage. It was very exciting!

On Wednesday, we had our Christmas lunch and it was delicious.

On Monday we took part in our first Advent Service with the P2 and P3 classes. We listened to some readings and sang some hymns. Mrs Russell lit the first purple candle on the Advent Wreath. We also made our own Advent Wreath for the classroom and set up our Advent Calendar. We also have a book Advent Calendar to open.

In Literacy, we have been learning the sounds ‘b’ and ‘h’. We have been reading words with these sounds and finding the pictures that matched. In writing, we wrote a sentence about a winter hat and had to describe what it looked like. We have enjoyed having ERIC time in front of the Christmas Fireplace.

In Maths, we have been continuing our work on addition and looked at part part whole models. We also learned about estimating and we had to estimate how many jumps and hops we could do in 10 seconds. We also estimated how many chocolate Santas were in the box and we were very close.

In Topic, we have been looking at what toys are made of. We found toys made of wood, plastic or metal.

For Art, we read the story  Rudey’s Windy Christmas. We then followed the instructions to draw our own reindeers.

Some of personal highlights are:

Amariah – I have enjoyed colouring in.

Hallie – I enjoyed working with my friend to colour in the reindeer.

Tyler – I enjoyed building a house.

Dhawan – I enjoyed playing with the blocks.

Freddie – I enjoyed making the reindeer.

Congratulations to Dawid who is our Hot Chocolate Winner this week. He has been working hard on his sounds and numbers.
