What an exciting week we have had this week with Halloween.

This week we read the story Room on the Broom. We discussed the animals in the story and then wrote fantastic sentences on what animals we saw on the witches broom. We are focusing on writing a sentence with a capital letter, finger spacing and a full stop. We also thought about and drew 3 things we would put in our own spell.

Arush – I liked the story.

Cerys – I wrote a good sentence.

We have been learning the sound ‘i’ this week and enjoyed making iguanas. We used magnetic letters to build CVC words with the middle vowel ‘i’.

Guhan – tin and tip

In math we continue to learn about addition to 10. This week we focused on the story of 6 and 7.

Tiara – 5 and 2

Alfie – You can reverse them, 2 and 5.

We had a visit from our P7 buddies. We worked together to make a handprint Halloween craft, either a ghost, pumpkin or Frankenstein, it was fun. We also had the opportunity to play with our buddies in the area.

Ava – I made a ghost.

We all really enjoyed coming to school on Thursday dressed in our Halloween costumes. We spent the afternoon doing joint learning with P2 and P3. We had lots of fun dancing to Halloween songs, playing bingo, doing a scavenger hunt, making a craft and dooking for apples.

William – I got an apple.

We hope everyone has a lovely weekend.
