Welcome families of P4A

A lot of hard work has been completed this week by P4A.

We have explored poetry this week, understanding what onomatopoeia is and have written some amazing pieces of acrostic poetry related to Halloween.

Through literacy, pupils have also explored new spelling words and with their partners completed their spelling challenges to which they all enjoyed.

Pupils have worked very hard to recognise money in our society as we have begun learning about money in maths. Pupils have been adding and subtracting money up to £10 and are showing great confidence in doing so.

Alicja- “I like learning about all of the coins”

Ollie- “I really enjoyed the Halloween day that we had and seeing all the costumes”

Skyler- “I enjoyed making some Halloween cookies”

This week we created some posters and researched the history of Halloween on the ipads. We are enhancing our research tasks and are becoming more independent in finding our own information. Below are some pictures of pupils with their posters that they created. Some pupils even created a powerpoint to show the class instead of a poster, showcasing their evolving technology skills.

As a treat for working super hard this week and it being Halloween, Miss Maxwell brought in some goodies for the class to create their own Halloween biscuits. Pupils showed amazing creativity and I hope that they shared some of their treats with you all at home.

P4A had their fire safety talk this week by the local fire service. They explained to us the importance of keeping ourselves safe around fire at this time of year. This was very informative and primary 4 showed amazing listening skills throughout this presentation.

Our hot chocolate winner of the week is Zion- well done!

I hope that you all have a great weekend!

Miss Maxwell
