Dear Readers,
We hope you have all had a great World Book Week!๐๐๐๐๐
In our school, World book Week is one of the most important weeks of the academic year and this time it included the Feast of our Patron Saint, Saint John Ogilvie, which made it even more special!
The highlights this week were many so here are just some of them:
- Reading, watching and exploring the book ‘Horton hears a Who’. We have completed many World Book Week activities linked to it like a collection of the many rhymes of the book, a Reading Comprehension about the book, a Poster designed to find the missing Whos from the book and even Maths and Numeracy games. It was all very enjoyable.
- Learning again about the story of Saint John Ogilvie, his life and the miracles God has performed through his intercession.
- Preparing for Mass in honour of St John Ogilvie by learning new beautiful hymns and practising them over and over.
- Drafting our bookmarks with positive quotes about reading which were then perfected to be gifted to Primary 3A.
- Having been visited by Heriot Watt Student Ambassadors who came to help us with the planning of our future Eco School Models and who also came to guide us and make us think about how to create a good Bug Hotel from a given material. It was very interesting and at the end we all got to go to the Woodlands to leave our Bug Hotels in the best possible spots.
- Going to the Woodlands to prepare our activity for the parents and carers next week. No spoilers here.๐
- Preparing other things for parents and carers next week – No spoilers.๐คฃ
We would like to congratulate our Hot Chocolate of the week, Mr Aaron, for setting a great example on how to follow the school rules!๐ฅ๐Well done!โจ
Congratulations also to The Cursed Child table children for making it win again! Super duper work! ๐๐ It would be lovely to have the other tables trying their hardest to win as well!
It’s all for now, we hope you have enjoyed reading about our week and have a great weekend!๐
