This week we have been learning the sounds ‘o’ and ‘e’. We have been practising reading and writing three letter words and we have enjoyed playing games on the smartboard to help us. Some of us have also been writing words during our Choosing Our Own Learning time. In writing, we wrote a list of all the things we would take with us on a trip to space in a rocket. We had very interesting ideas of what we would take!
In maths, we have been learning all about the number bonds for 4 and 5. We can use our finger patterns to help us to make them and we have been good at identifying the ones that have been switched around.
In RE, we learned about Remembrance Day and watched a video about poppies. We made some special poppy artwork to be displayed in the hall on the Rights Respecting Schools wall.
On Tuesday, we went out with P2/1 to pick up the litter in the school playground. We were very excited to use the litter pickers and we were very good at taking turns with our partners. We didn’t find too much litter in the playground which made us very pleased.
Some of our personal highlights this week are:
Lewis – I enjoyed playing with the marble run.
Leah – I liked playing outside.
Maja – I liked playing with the rocket.
Joseph – I liked playing with the cubes.
Tyler T – I enjoyed playing in the area.
Matteo – I liked playing outside with the ice.
Peyton – I liked playing with the paper aeroplanes.
Bella – I liked going litter picking.
Alfie – I liked going to assembly.
Miss Stebbing – It was lovely to see all the P1 families this week for parent consultations and to share all the great learning and achievements of all the children.
Well done to Maksymilian who is our Hot Chocolate Award winner this week.
