This week we have been have been discussing – Article 38 (Governments must not allow children under the age of 15 to take part in war or join the armed forces. Governments must do everything they can to protect and care for children affected by war and armed conflicts). As we prepare for Remembrance Day on the 11th of November. We discussed the impact of war on families and places that they live. We reflected on the importance of the poppy to remember those soldiers who died or were injured in wars.
As part of our RE lessons this week we explored the importance of Diwali to people of Hindu, Sikh and Jain religions. We made rangoli patterns and some of our pupils shared their experiences of celebrating Diwali in their homes and prayer centres.
In our Outdoor Learning we took part in a whole school litter pick as part of our school campaign to take care of our local environment.
We received a wonderful surprise this morning. Some one from the local Carmondean Community Council spotted us yesterday and send us this note in an email and a wonderful certificate. It is so nice to be noticed for the right reasons as we try to improve our local community environment.
Our writing we have been exploring logo’s and catch phrase slogans for our Enterprise Groups. We are using persuasive vocabulary to create posters for our first products we are making.
In math we have been learning more about Time, Money and Measuring different angles.
Our Science project explored different areas of Solar and Wind Energy. We had practical experiments to complete over the next few weeks.
