This week we explored several articles linked to the care and protection of children. Article 9 (separation from parents) Children must not be separated from their parents against their will . Article 20 (children unable to live with their family) If a child cannot be looked after by their immediate family, the government must give them special protection and assistance. Article 21 (adoption) Governments must oversee the process of adoption to make sure it is safe, lawful and that it prioritises children’s best interests. Article 25 (review of treatment in care) children have the right to a regular review of their treatment, the way they are cared for and their wider circumstances.
Your children, as always, showed a good sense of understanding and empathy for children living through difficult circumstances.
P5 have been investigating the meaning of bible verse in our everyday life. In math are still developing their knowledge of grid method multiplication as well as being able to tell time and use time to plan events or travel. In literacy P5 are developing our knowledge of different sentence elements and how to link information through paragraphs. P5 are working hard with Mrs Morrison to learn how to create rhythmic musical pieces. In our outdoor learning this week we were busy trying to restock the bug hotel to create warm places for insects to live in our woodlands. I hope everyone enjoys this holiday weekend and look forward to seeing the children back in school on Wednesday.
