Dear Families

This week has been another busy week in Primary 3.

Literacy

In Literacy, we have been focusing on exposition writing (persuasive). We created a piece of writing together as a whole class, focusing on the importance of staying safe in the sun (we are disappointed the weather has turned). Then we created an individual exposition about being safe on our bikes, skateboard or skates. We have learned the correct structure and the importance of giving a reason for our arguments. Our last step was to create posters using our arguments.

Maths

We have continued to work with money this week. Focusing on adding 2 amounts within £1. We were fairly confident with this.

We also kept practising our times tables knowledge with bingo, it was really fun!

IDL

We finished our class novel (George’s Marvellous Medicine) and came up with alternative endings.

Using our class novel as our inspiration, we completed a science experiment to see whether items would float or sink in water and in oil.

Pupil Highlight

Millie – I enjoyed doing P.E with Mrs Lafferty. Especially the monkey bars.

Paige – I liked making a folder to store all my loose paper.

Jude – I enjoyed P.E, we are doing gymnastics.

Mariam – I enjoyed April Fool’s day, Mrs Robson fooled us with a spelling test!

Daniel – I enjoyed the science experiment.

We are all now looking forward to our Easter holiday.
