What a busy week we have had!

This week we celebrated Book Week.  We had the opportunity to write our own stories working with P2B and P3B.  Each day we took turns to write a different part of the story and we even got to draw the pictures.  Every day we read two books from Epic Books and we had to vote for our favourite.  Today we found out the over all winning story was ‘The Ninjabread Man’.

We completed a mini project on the story ‘Bloom’ written by Anne Booth.  It was a lovely story about showing kindness to others and using kind words.  We drew pictures of flowers.  We made a class bar chart of our favourite flower in P1B (which was a rose) and we created our own ‘Grass Head’.  We gave our grass head a name and whispered kind words to it hoping that it will start to grow and flourish soon. We made bookmarks for our Buddies in Primary 7 and we received bookmarks from them today.  We made cards for our family to say ‘Thank You’ for all they do for us.

We brought our favourite book to school and showed off the wooden spoons we were given to create a character from a book.

On Thursday we celebrated St John Ogilvie Feast Day.  We learned about the life of John Ogilvie and we also shared in a whole school mass through Teams with Father Simon.  We loved learning the hymn ‘Lay your hands’ and Mrs Russell was very proud of us.

Today we got to wear our own clothes to school and we brought our loose change in to donate to SCIAF.  We filled lots of maps of Malawi with all our coins.

We were so excited to receive a cup cake and juice today as part of our Feast Day Celebrations.  They tasted delicious.  Thank you Mrs McKissack.

Congratulations to Sofia who was our Hot Chocolate Winner, Lilly who was our first Reading Champion and the Green Table who had the most table points this week.

Have a lovely weekend everyone and we look forward to another busy and exciting week to come.
