P1A Learning Highlights 25th February 2022

This week has been a very busy week in P1A.  We have been learning our new sounds ‘ai’ and ‘oa’.  We are reading words with these sounds and even spelling words too!  We have written another information report this time about Apples.  We each got an apple to take home after we had written some sentences about it.

On Tuesday we celebrated ‘Twosday’ with lots of activities about the number 2.  We read a book called ‘Two of Everything’ and then started to double numbers all the way to 10.  We made crowns and had special colouring in sheets in Creative Zone.

As part of our topic work we have been learning about the lifecycle of a plant and the different parts of a plant.  We learned about the Fairtrade logo and coloured in our own one.  We are now going to look for the logo when we are shopping.  We watched a video about Fairtrade bananas and the main character was a super banana called Pablo.

Some of our personal highlights this week are:

Chimamanda – I have enjoyed learning how to slide the sounds.

Diana – I enjoyed joining the letters to write the sound.

Linda – I enjoyed learning the new sounds.

Angel – I enjoyed watching Pablo the super banana.

Vivien – I enjoyed learning how to cut in creative zone.

Aadya – I enjoyed making toys and drawing and cutting them out.
