P1B Highlights Week Beginning 1st Novemeber 2021

We have had another busy week in P1B.

Our new sound this week is n, n is a dark blue long stretchy sound.  We use our tongue to make the sound.  We created a night scene and number n and practised writing n using our thumb to help us.  We also looked at words that have n at the beginning or at the end.

In numeracy we have been looking at dot patterns regular and irregular and trying to count the dots really fast and shout out the answer.  We have also been looking at 1 and 2 more.

In our Outdoor learning we created hairstyles using leaves.  We looked at the shapes, colour and size of the leaves before deciding which ones would look best.

For topic we started to create a nest for our Dinosaur Corner and started making dinosaur eggs using paper mache.  We measured a Diplodocus foot using our own feet.  It took 20 of our shoes to fill it.  We also measured out the length of a Diplodocus using our bodies.

We discussed the importance of keeping safe on Bonfire Night we looked at power points Fireman Sam who helped teach us the Firework code we then made posters to tell people how to be safe.  We looked at a firework display on the computer and then we tried to think of words to describe the sounds the fireworks might make.  We also created firework art work.

We hope everyone has a lovely and safe weekend and we look forward to hearing about it on Monday.
