A great week of learning in Primary 6!

Lead learners: Luke.C and Lena were our lead learners this week and have been great role models for their class. Together they have set 3 targets for everyone to work on and have also awarded points to children they have noticed being ready, respectful and safe.

Literacy: This week we have been learning about synonyms and antonyms and we were able to use the thesauruses to find synonyms for a range of words. We could also identify the antonym for the synonym in a sentence.

Maths: We have been working on improper fractions and mixed numbers. We also worked with a partner to plan a Christmas party using fractions and percentages. We worked out the best options to save money and used maths in a real life situation.

R.E: Advent we have been continuing to learn about advent and created our advent candles for the Alter.

Writing: We have been continuing to learn about expository writing. Our theme this week was “Should children wear school uniform?” We produced excellent reasons to explain why this is important but also why it may not be.

Art: We created the Grinch pictures using oil pastels.

Digital learning: We had lots of fun taking part in Kahoot quizzes.

Funky Hair Friday: Very impressive hair in primary 6a and generous donations to the foodbank. Many thanks to everyone that contributed!

Have a great weekend,

Mrs Roy
