Primary 1A Weekly Update 11th September 2020

This week we have been trying hard to be kind to each other. We read a book called ‘The Magic Breath’, it told us about how to breathe slowly and think about happy thoughts to get us back to being calm.

We have been learning a new sound ‘c’ and doing lots of listening games to help us hear the first sound and the sound at the end. When we hear ‘c’ at the end we know we have to write ‘ck’ as they are friends.

We had our first outdoor learning session on Thursday. We had a walk through the woodland and learned about sitting at the fire pit safely. Then we went down to the playground and had great fun using the chalk to write numbers, letters and to draw pictures.

We have been learning to write the number 5 this week and also showed different ways of making 5 using our finger patterns and on a ten frame. Ask us to show you how we do this.

In writing we were finishing the sentence I can…   We did some fantastic writing and we are using the sounds we have learned.  Miss Stebbing and Mrs Newall were very impressed.

Here are some of our personal highlights:

Pola – I liked drawing.

Zosia – I liked drawing with the chalks.

John – I liked playing with the cars.

Ella – I liked playing the sounds bowling game and drawing.

Ollie – I liked going in the Woodland.

Joseph – I liked writing on the sticky labels.

Aiden G – I liked Activity Time.

Here are some photographs of our learning.
