P4A 14.05.20 AFTERNOON TASKS

Hi again, P4A!

I am sure you have been doing amazing work in the morning tasks and I am going to post here some more for you to learn about.

This afternoon we are going to learn about something really interesting: Roman numerals and how to write any number with Roman numerals!

Roman numerals are like a code, and as all codes, you need to know how to use it.

Here you will find a clip with all the explanations about it:

Followed by a clip with a song about the Roman numerals for you to sing and sing and sing!🤣

After all that singing, it’s now time to check if you have understood your Roman numerals and if you can write any number using them. To help you a bit more, here is a table with them all that you can copy down to your jotters:

ROMAN NUMERALS 1-1000

Your task is to write the numbers of the months of the year – 1 to 12 in Roman Numerals,

followed by

-the birthdays of the members of your family who live with you, for example:

4-11-67 would be IV-XI-LXVII

It is tricky but it is also lots of fun!😃

TASK 2 – EXPRESSIVE ARTS – WITH ROMAN NUMERALS

Your challenge is to write your birthday in Roman numerals, using bits of paper, straws, fabric, spaguetti, other kind of pasta, rice, or whatever your imagination can think of.

As long as we can see your birthday and it is not just written down with pencil or pen, that is very good already!

Be creative and have fun!

Mrs Valente
