Good Morning Primary 6,
Hopefully you’re all ready for some new tasks today.
First up, maths.
We’re going to practise the written method for division this week. Have a look at the powerpoint presentations to remind you how to go about these before you attempt your tasks:
Our next task is very exciting! We are starting a new novel! (Can you tell how excited I am?) The novel is called The Last Wolf and is written by Michael Morpurgo. Today we are going to do some tasks just by looking at the cover and blurb. There are two cover versions of this book:
Have a look at both cover pictures. What do you think the story will be about? What does the title mean, i.e.: the last wolf ever? The last wolf in a certain place? The last wolf in a queue? The last wolf to be photographed? Something else? What clues do the two different covers give you? Which cover appeals to you most and why?
Next, have a look at where the first part of the story is set (page 1 of task sheet) do you recognise the area? What do you already know about this area? Read the blurb (page 2). The annotations (extra information) should help you understand it. Look at the Impressions and Predictions sheet (page 3). Complete the table in your jotter or directly in your Personal Learning Blog.
Enjoy your morning everyone!
