Its been another busy week this week in class where the children have been working together developing their metaskills as they plan to enter a STEM competition.

Tickled Pink –

  • We finished most of our initial sewing tasks- some wanted to challenge ourselves by sewing paper birds – the finished results are beautiful!
  • We finished our shared class Plastic Bag Mockumentary! It is on display outside our class.
  • Basketball was great fun this week and our skills are really developing.
  • We are working on our Airport for All competition entry – designing a sustainable Edinburgh Airport.
  • We really enjoyed our addition challenges this week adding large numbers  – tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands and millions.
  • Writing this week was good as we used lots of adjectives to describe a stormy night.

Green for Growth-

  • We were working on multiple calculations using our 4 operations this week but some of us found this tricky mixing add, subtract , multiply and divide so we went back to focussing on a particular operation each day.
  • Using different language and word problems during mental maths  – plus, minus, difference between etc.
  • Remembering to do our class jobs – make sure devices are on charge, resources put away, make sure lids are on pens and glue sticks.
