Primary 3 have been learning about discursive writing. We have been exploring different view points and reasons to support these. We practiced using discursive language out in the playground by reading statements and deciding whether we agreed or disagreed. We know that we need to give a reason for our answer and used some fantastic discursive language. We also enjoyed working in pairs to act out having a debate about a given topic.

Primary 4’s week
This week Primary 4 have been working hard on their report writing. We have written newspaper reports about Little Red Riding Hood. They worked hard on them. We really enjoyed Rookie Rock Stars and had great fun joining in with the songs and activities. We even had a fabulous rapper who performed infront of the whole school.Well done to Alan! We dressed up in dots on Friday for Children in Need. We made dotty biscuits at Golden Time which the pupils enjoyed and we will carry on with this next week as well for those who didn’t manage it.
Next Wednesday we are heading to Waterstones at the Centre to choose a book each for our library! We can’t wait to replace some of our older books. Next week will be filled with reading and book related activities so look out for next week’s blog it will be full!
Remember to bring a book for book swap on Wednesday as well as your favourite book to share with the class.
Primary 4 Library Corner
Primary 4 are very proud to have been chosen as winners for the middle school in our competition. We are looking forward to heading to Watersons to get books for our library. We worked together to come up with a theme and then everyone took part in making and designing something for the corner. We have favourite book covers, authors names, and sorted the books into different types, fiction and non fiction. We love our corner and enjoy going in and reading our books at DEAR time.
P3 Library Corner
Primary 3’s highlight of the week this week has been designing and creating our very own library corner for our upcoming library corner competition. The class agreed that our library should be an inviting and cosy space to enjoy a book. We drew up plans and gathered our fantastic ideas through discussions before eventually voting on a unicorn theme.
We all loved working cooperatively to bring our ideas to life! Here are some pictures of our new library corner, we love it and couldn’t wait to put it to good use!
