A week of Christmas performances!

We had a super week this week celebrating all things Christmas at both Riverside and Letham Primary. Our Primary 1 and 2 children performed a fabulous ‘Twinkly Nativity’. All Primary 3-7 children at both schools took part in a Christmas singalong performance. Our school choir were also lucky enough to be invited along to sing at the opening of the new Lidl store.

We are so proud of all of our pupils!

Our Library Corners

Our aim is to encourage EVERYONE to read for pleasure so every class took part in our annual book corner decoration competition. All classes worked hard to create cosy, inviting reading spaces and gave the judges a very difficult job! After a lot of deliberating they choose 2 winners from each school. The winners from Riverside were P1 with ‘We’re Wild about Reading’ and P6/7 with ‘Hot Flame – All You Can Read Buffet’. From Letham our winners were P1 with their ‘Your mind is a garden and books are the seeds’ and P5 with their coffee shop themed corner where they ‘Read a Latte’. Take a look at all of the entries below…

Book Week Scotland

We had a great week this week celebrating all things books and reading. Each class took part in an outdoor scavenger hunt looking for well know book characters and authors. Thanks to Mrs Smart, we were lucky enough to toast a marshmallow and read our favourite book around the campfire. Primary 2 at Riverside visited the library for a super story telling session too. On Friday morning we had a Bookie Breakfast, reading our favourite books with older buddies. Take a look at just some of the things  we got up to during a fun filled Book Week Scotland…

Into Film Festival

First level classes and Primary 5 and 6 had a brilliant morning at the Into Film Festival.  The children loved the experience watching Lilo and Stitch with their friends and was a great end to our week!
