Primary 4

All our work is in the pack given out. I hope you will join me online for morning instructions and greetings. It has been a difficult week and heading into  a new way of teaching. I am so excited about using our class Team. Remember to stay safe and keep in touch.  Remember we are at the end of the phone  for any problems.

P4 World Book Day

Primary 4 enjoyed their World Book Day Activities. We started off with our breakfasr read. Throughout the day,  we worked on different book related activities. These included reading with Primary 3 and reading with our parents who had come for the Big Read. We also did word searches,  read our favourite books to each other and talked all day about books!

Primary 4

In Art, we have been learning about the Scottish Artist, Charles Rennie Mackintosh. We  drew some pen drawings in the stlye of his famous rose design. This week we have been looking at Pop Art and have used it to show our knowledge of “bossy verbs” and adjectives. We chose a word to display in the style of Pop Art.

Below are some of our amazing pictures.

Primary 4

Primary 4 have had a busy time in January. We have a student witn us for the next 5 weeks and we welcome her into our class. The class have been learning their poems for the Poetry competition and we will be looking for them to perform them next week. Tuesdays have been busy with Outdoor Learrning in Maths with Mrs McCool . So far we have looked at  shapes and are looking at angles and seeing if we can recognise them in the outdoors.

We have started our new topic looking at Scotland and finding out about different Landmarks which we may know. We had a great lesson where we had to see how many places we recognised. Max and his partner recognised the most!

We are working on persuasive writing and we hope to use our knowledge of our Scottish Cities to make a travel guide to persuade you to visit the place! We are working in groups to find out all about the different cities around Scotland.

We will post pictures when we finish!

Primary 4’s week

This week Primary 4 have been working hard on their report writing. We have written newspaper reports about Little Red Riding Hood. They worked hard on them. We really enjoyed Rookie Rock Stars and had great fun joining in with the songs and activities. We even had a fabulous rapper who performed infront of the whole school.Well done to Alan!  We dressed up in dots  on Friday for Children in Need. We made dotty biscuits at Golden Time which the pupils enjoyed and we will carry on with this next week as well for those who didn’t manage it.

Next Wednesday we are heading to Waterstones at the Centre to choose a book each for our library! We can’t wait to replace some of our older books. Next week will be filled with reading and book related activities so look out for next week’s blog it will be full!

Remember to bring a book for book swap on Wednesday as well as your favourite book to share with the class.
