Each class at Riverside thoroughly enjoyed their visit from Edinburgh’s Chocolatarium this week! We learned all about the process of making chocolate, including the journey of a cacao bean and the importance of Fairtrade. A highlight of the visit was sampling different flavours of chocolate and decorating our own chocolate lolly. A huge thank you to Fraser for spending his week with us and teaching us about all things chocolate.

Great Scottish Athlete Visit
On Monday, we had a visit from Johnny Paterson from Great Athletes. We all took part in a circuit and then he spoke to us at assembly. He inspired us to Dream Big! Thank you to everyone who collected sponsor money. Please pay this in using the QR code on the form by Monday 4th May.
Primary 1, 2 and 5 visit Dynamic Earth!
Primary 1, 2 and 5 had a great trip to Dynamic Earth on Tuesday. We loved walking through all of the different time zones, especially the ones that shook, rumbled, or suddenly turned freezing cold. We took part in a Journey into Space Workshop and learned lots about our Solar System and the life of an Astronaut. A great day was had by all!
End of an Era!
Today we sadly say goodbye to two much‑loved members of our Craigshill PS community, Mr and Mrs Gray, as they retire together. Mr Gray has been the steady, reliable presence who kept our school running smoothly—tackling ladders, spiders and floods and bringing pride and quiet care to everything he did. Mrs Gray has been a constant source of warmth, patience and kindness, supporting generations of children, families and staff, whether in classrooms, comforting a worried pupil, or even painting half the school in her own time. They have each given so much of themselves to make our schools a welcoming, nurturing place, and their impact will be felt for years to come. As they step into this new chapter, we wish them both a joyful, well‑earned retirement, however, they will always be part of the Craigshill family.
