Thank you to everyone who came along on Wednesday night. It was a great evening of fitness and fun. We were all thoroughly put through our paces….plenty sweating and sore muscles.

We have been solving different kinds of problems in numeracy this week. We were using the Solve it Blocks to make the pattern and also matching the pattern with counters and mats. Have a look at our photos.

This week in P5
A big thank you to all the P5’s who take their homework so seriously and for the wonderful research on Charles Rennie MacIntosh. We have had a wide variety of research from posters to a power point presentation and even a questionnaire.

We have looked at the map of the UK this week and discerned between England, Scotland and Ireland. We used knowledge gained from our learning to map cities on a blank Scotland map.
We are currently working on Netball skills in our outdoor PE. P5 worked very hard on throwing and catching skills. This was quite chilly this week and I think many P5’s realized that they might not all have the correct outdoor PE kit.
A big congratulations to Lara Findlay for her achievement during the Christmas break with her horse riding. We are very proud of you and keep working hard!

Murrayfield Nursery Class
It has been another busy week in the nursery with the children enjoying the Scottish theme. We have been practising songs for the assemblies that are coming up with the songs “3 Craws” and “Ye Cannae Shove your granny off a bus”. This week at group time the children investigated ice with the problem of a lego man trapped in a block of ice. The children had to come up with how to get the lego man out. This was a great chance to explore freezing and melting with the children. Next time you are in the nursery look out for the Scottish hills and hill walkers that the children have created.

Here is a photo of when we dressed up bright and colourful to highlight the importance of being seen. As it is still dark in the evenings it is still advisable that we dress in bright colours to stay safe.
