Primary 2B Newsflash

This week primary 2B have been learning:

Literacy

“We have been writing about toys from the past by making a list. We had to use a comma to make a list of toys.” – Brooke

“We have been reading non-fiction books in class.” – Hadia

“Non-fiction books are books that have real facts in them.” Jack

“We have been learning to play bingo in groups using our flashcards.” – Abbie

 

Maths

“We have been learning what odd and even numbers are.” – Evie

“Even numbers are numbers that have a partner. Odd numbers do not have a partner.” – Summer B

“We have been using Numicon to help us with our sums.” – Summer S

“Mrs Stewart was helping us to identify where numbers live on a 100 number square.” – Amy-Leigh

 

P.E

“In P.E we have been learning how to stay fit.” – Kesley

 

**Next Friday is……

A Jammie Jog Day – Friday 18th March for Sports Relief

£1 to wear your pyjamas to school and £1 to join in the jog.

 

Primary 2A

We have been practising for our Fairtrade Assembly and we did a great job today – Jack

Thank you to all of you who managed to come along to see it.

We were busy today and went to the primary 1 80’s disco – Brogan.

We started measuring this week with cubes – Warren

For homework we had to think of the missing word using our reading book – Alex.

The Skillionaires this week for estimating length were Alex and Megan – well done girls!

The Head Teacher Award this week went to Brogan for excellence in reading and writing. Well done Brogan – keep up the hard work.

We wore our pjs for our Fairtrade Assembly. Sit down for breakfast - stand up for farmers.

After our Fairtrade Assembly please try to change your breakfast to Fairtrade over the next fortnight. P1 – P3 please collect the Fairtrade lables over the next 2 weeks and bring them to school to fill in the letters for Fairtrade.

 

Primary 2A

What have we been learning this week?

Freya – We have been learning time. We can tell o’clock and half past times. We used chalk to make clocks outside and we sorted clocks.

Jack – I won the spotlight this week for writing on my own and remembering capital letters and full stops and finger spaces.

Brogan – We have been learning to take away.

Alex – We have been learning how to add.

Callen – We have been doing our walk and run every day to get fit.

Sara – We have been learning more about people who help us.

Brooke – We having been learning the sounds of the fire engine, ambulance and police cars.

Jack – We have been learning about the vehicles for the emergency services.

Miss Adam – we have been working hard this week and

Payton, Eva, Callan, Alex and Ross won Head Teacher Awards.

Primary 2B

This week in primary 2b we have been learning to:

Numeracy

– Take away, and we have been revising the story of 10.

“I really enjoyed my subtraction worksheet on Thursday” – Summer S

Literacy

– Our hobbies and what we liked to do outside of school.

“I liked writing about my hobbies” – Summer S

Art

– Draw a full self-portrait of ourselves using pens and pencils.

Topic – People who help us

– Doctors and Nurses.

“Doctors wear white coats and a nurse has a blue uniform” – Jade

Primary 2A

This week certain pupils are reporting what we have been learning.

In Art we have been learning to draw welly boots and gloves with Mrs Burton – Sean

We added patterns to the boots and gloves – Payton

We have been writing about what we like doing at home – Freya

I reached the “Great Job” on the behaviour chart and went on a positive visit – Jack
