A big OOOPS! from Miss Akram who saved last weeks blog but forgot to actually post it! Apologises! So firstly we have last weeks’ news;
We have been making Christmas sweet cones to sell at the Christmas fair – Leah
We have been learning about some sea creatures – Zoe
We had elves arrive in our class on Thursday – Eve
We have been making winter hats for our wall display in the hall – Peter
We made reindeer food for the Christmas fair – Melanie
We made snowflakes – Amber
Now this week we have been learning;
We watched P5’s assembly today – Robert
We have been doing out Nativity all week – Elsie
We wrote our letters to Santa – Jay James
We were doing taking away with Numicon – Peter
We done our spelling test today – Millie
We done our reading – Robbie
We have been learning about verbs, and verbs mean actions and movements – Elsie
We had to fix sentences and add capital letters and full stops in the correct places! – Kenzie
We used the laptops find different facts about different sea animals – Robert

We were wearing our Christmas jumpers today to raise funds for Jack’s Den.

Congratulations to everyone who entered our Get Caught Reading! challenge. The pictures are displayed on our Get caught Reading! display and on the LCD.
Our pupils and staff were caught reading on trampolines, broomsticks, ponies, sun loungers and even at the swimming pool!
Prizes and certificates were awarded at today’s assembly to Lyle, Carra, Eryn, Zoe, Jaxon, Kirstin and Melanie.

We seen a real dead sea horse for our topic seashore – Amber
We wrote a story about being on a submarine under the sea – Peter
We were practicing the letter i, l and t again – Elsie
We were learning how to write subtraction sums in our jotters – Amber
We went to P3G’s bake sale and bought yummy cakes – Amber
We were doing comprehension questions – Elsie
We were doing a sequencing task; telling what happened at the beginning, middle and end of our reading books – Peter
We have been drawing sea creatures for our topic – Elsie
We made a big captain respect for our respect wall – Courtney
A huge well done to Courtney, Mason, Elsie, Lucas, Peter, Eve and Melanie for their Head teachers awards because they persevered with writing an acrostic poem on a sea creature! A super proud Miss Akram! 🙂

We learned lots from the assembly today – Lucas
We have been doing subtraction sums this week. We got to choose and did Mild, spicy and hot worksheets – Robert
We looked at Veronica verb – Zoe
We seen a real dead seahorse – Jay James
We did lots of reading this week – Robbie
After the mild, spicy and hot, we finished our Elmer subtraction colouring sheets – Zoe
We have been learning about all the creatures you find under the sea – Eve
We turned our doctors surgery into an ice cream shop – Melanie
We had so many HT awards this week for using their knowledge of nouns and adjectives to write poems on colour. Super proud Miss Akram as this was their first time writing poems! 😀
A huge well done to Millie, Kenzie, Jay James, Quinn, Robbie, Leah, Elsie, Sophia, Alicia, Melanie and Megan! 😀
We have already marked and read our star writers/head teachers awards for next week 😀 Watch this space next week for who the successful learners are! However Miss Akram found it extremely tricky this week to choose star writers as they all done a fab job with their FIRST EVER acrostic poems! 😀

We did a 2 minutes silence today to remember the soldiers – Lucas
We have been using the solve blocks to solve problems and having such great fun working with the blocks! – Lucas
We have been practicing how to write y in handwriting – Courtney
Busy busy week from P2S! – We have been so busy working hard that we have had no time to get our HT awards so we shall have lots and lots to give out soon! P2S have wrote such great colour poems that even choosing star writers was a very tough decision for Miss Akram.
