Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you for purchasing our “Make it Grow,” Goodie Bags. We have raised £198 so far. This money will be going towards a fun filled trip near the end of term.

We have good news to share with the school. Blake Newall was chosen by a scout to play for Livingston Football Club!! We are all super proud of him and wish him lots of success in his football career. Also, Aimee Clifton was chosen for the CAB calendar this year and she is thrilled to bits.

In class we have been learning about decimal fractions and we have also been creating graphs and using excel spread sheets to help us with our Make it Grow.

To continue the theme of respect we have been creating posters through ICT on people we admire. Look out for these posters on the blog soon.

Have a nice Weekend!

P7 News :)

It is so lovely to have all the P7’s back from camp. It sounds like they had a fabulous time and we missed them dearly 🙂

Our class enterprise is going really well and we shall be making our orders this Wednesday. Tomorrow will be the last day for orders. Thank you so much to everyone who has already ordered a lovey goodie bag.

This week our Big Talk homework will be on someone that you admire. Think about someone close to you or someone famous that you admire and write down some ideas to bring into class. We will be discussing vocabulary that is relevant for this writing on Tuesday.

Thank you!

Miss Moir 🙂

We hope that the boys and girls away at camp have a super time away and don’t miss us too much.

While they are away though, we are being busy in class sorting out our Class Enterprise….. here are some photos of the products we will be selling to all pupils in the school.

P7 News!

p7 have had another super week and even finished their week off with a visitor to discuss their topic.

Megan Cordner has been taking the time to support the class with visuals for their Natural Disasters topic and after receiving a letter from Mhari, she came in to share her learning with the class- how could we say no with her skills and knowledge as a Geography student! She had a super morning with the class and the children asked her some very suitable questions. Well done P7!

Thank you to all parents who came to parents evening. It was lovely to see you and have a good natter. Just a quick note to say maths homework is due in on Monday and The Big Talk homework this week is to bring in a newspaper article to discuss in class. A letter will be handed out on Monday to remind all children, but please do not worry if you havnt has time over Monday evening…a simple further discussion of newspapers would be brilliant.

Thanks again for your continued support. Have a great weekend 🙂

P7 News!

Another super week for p7 with the Rookie Rockstars concert on Thursday night. Well done to Naomi who won a bracelet band for being an effective contributor during the performance 🙂

We have been working hard on our class display this week and it will be up and ready for Parents Evening. The class have worked really hard and I am very impressed with their artistic skills. We have also been working on our place value. Thank you for all the homework that has been handed in. A great start to the year in Numeracy!

Next week primary 7 will be taking part in BLES training which is a fantastic opportunity for them. Please make sure the EE2 and lunch forms are back into school no later than Monday 26th of September. Your child must wear school uniform on the day and please make sure they bring a jacket as we will be walking to BLES and back, which is close to the Cairn Hotel.

Have a lovely weekend!

News from P7

This week in Murrayfield we have had the opportunity to take part in Rookie Rockstars. Rookie Rockstars are a band that promote anti-bullying and friendship. We have been learning lots of songs and dances and we will be taking part in a concert next Thursday at 6.30pm. Come along to the school and have some fun dressed as Rockstars. We even got to record our singing and design a CD cover for a competition. Fingers crossed for everyone in P7!

This week P7 completed their first Big Writing lesson which was helped by the Big Talk homework. Thank you to all parents who participated in supporting their child with their Big Talk. There will be a new subject to discuss today for Tuesday. Also a big thank you to all p7 pupils as their homework was of a very high standard this week. Please keep it up 🙂

In maths, we have been learning about place value and we will be given homework on this next week. For our topic we completed PowerPoints on different natural disasters. Please have a look at our work as they are very informative 🙂

Last week, P7 watched and learned about Pablo Picasso and created their own Picasso Portraits. These are now hanging in our classroom and look fabulous!

Homework is changing slightly this year and the staff of Murrayfield need your help 🙂

P7 will be starting a new writing scheme called “Big Write,” on Tuesday 6th September. The children will play some vocabulary games and then do 45 minutes of silent writing. But….this is were you come in. We would like to ask you to talk about a set topic with their child, which they will write about during Big Write. I will be sending out their BIG TALK homework today, which will prepare your child for writing on Tuesday. BIG TALK homework will then go out every Friday for writing on a Tuesday. Have fun and don’t worry. The topics will always be fun, interesting and discussion worthy 🙂

Other Homework will be issued as follows:

Reading: Every group will have a set day their reading will go home and be sent back to school. Your child will keep you right with this.

Numeracy: Maths homework will be handed out on a Thursday to be returned for a Monday.

Topic: Topic homework will be sent home as a challenge and you will be given plenty time to prepare.

Thank you so much for the wonderful effort that was put in for the music presentations this week. I was truly blown away by the effort, facts and the standard of work I received. Keep It up P7’s!
