  • We had great fun making our sandwiches and even had some children feeling adventurous and trying something new! The children confidently discussed the necessary steps to take before and after handling food.
  • We have been working on good table manners and the boys and girls are in the process of creating their own good table manners posters.
  • The P5’s have been working super hard this week on their editing skills. We looked at newspaper articles, discussed these and then used them to find ambitious vocabulary. The children then used these skills to edit their news paper articles from last week.
  • We are enjoying budgeting and are getting really good at working with money. The children are able to compare 5 different retailers with each other when purchasing a grocery list and can compare them and answer related questions.

Have a great long weekend and see you all ready for learning on Wednesday.

A very Happy New Year from everyone in P5.

This week we looked at our fingerprints and discovered that every person is unique in that no one has the same fingerprints. We had great fun making our fingerprints and looking closely to see if we have arches, whorls or loops. We then used our fingerprints and created a work of art.

We have worked on time and used our knowledge to work with timetables and calculate duration.

We also wrote our new years resolutions – we are going to have a very busy year working on these.

Have a great weekend and see you all back on Monday.

P5

What a busy week filled with assembly practice, dancing, singing and more assembly practice.

We did get some time for writing and worked on finishing a story using a word bank.

We are working with time and are starting to work with time duration and the P5’s are doing well.

We had the opportunity to work with p4, p5/4 and p6/5 to practice some Scottish country dancing in preparation for our Christmas party – they are all naturals.

Thank you to all the parents who took time out of their busy schedules to come and see our assembly.

A big thank you to all the boys and girls for the fantastic water cycle homework handed in.

Some great Diary entry this week. These reflected well on the thoughts P5’s have on Law and Order and its importance.  We have had a fantastic conversation about what will happen if there was no law and order.

The boys and girls are all working extremely hard during comprehension activities to read the text, understand the text and answer related questions. Many are now starting to use part of the question to answer using full sentences.

In PE we are working on Netball skills. The children are all very comfortable in showing the different passes and are now working on dodging techniques.

What a short / long  very busy week!

P5 attended the handball festival on Wednesday and I am proud to say the where a credit to Murrayfield Primary school through displaying great sportsmanship and being respectful Murrayfield Primary school citizens. They also gave it their all and had great fun participating.

We looked at Halloween poetry this week and used this in our handwriting.

The boys and girls all worked very hard and produced their own rhyming poems on Halloween.

A Big thank you to all the parents from the Parents council – the Halloween party was great!!
