This morning all the children headed up to the playing field with some of our buddies. Our first task was HUNT THE BEAR Ava, Anya and Lola were quick to find them. We played some other games before going to the STORYTELLING AREA to have our picnic. We remembered to feed our bears too. Thank you to all the buddies for helping and nursery staff for organising the picnic.

What shall we have for snack today?
We searched the nursery garden and found the rhubarb patch. It was quite hard pulling up the stalks but we managed. Chop, chop, choppity chop, chop off the bottom and chop off the top. Staight into the pot for cooking. Now for the topping, lots of butter and flour then spread it evenly over the fruit. Now into the oven. The best bit mmmmmmmm. We are discovering where food comes from as we choose, prepare and taste different foods.
After making snack children have the opportunity to check on the weather situation and update the calendar. Todays chefs completed the task to a high standard.
Butterflies
Our caterpillars have become beautiful butterflies. We are learning about their life cycle at art and craft using dried pasta.
Sounds
At outdoor play, we have been making music using improvised instruments. The two lids make good cymbals and we can keep the beat with our drumsticks on the recycling bins. Archie and Rory are trying to send a message through the tube.
