Buddy Collaboration

P2/1 and P7/6 have been enjoying working together. This offers younger learners support and guidance in their learning and gives older children the experience of being role models and holding responsibility. It is also a valuable social experience for all, with many lovely relationships having developed throughout the year.

P7/6 were great examples of being responsible citizens, helping to give the garden a spring tidy up and supporting P2/1 with their writing and common words. Once all the hard work was done, everyone had fun with a STEM challenge, making brilliant marble runs and showcasing our Longridge Skills of Collaboration and Critical Thinking, as they worked together to figure out how to bring their design ideas to life.

Colour Run Fun

I think pictures are worth a thousand words and these photos from our Colour Run show how special a day it was. Thank you to all of our families who came along and supported us and well done to our children who had the time of their lives. Some even said it was their best day at school ever… high praise!

More pictures coming soon…

P6/5 Teambuilding

As part of PE this term we are working our teambuilding skills.

This week we worked in small groups to cross the roaring river. There were rules we had to follow, mainly your feet couldn’t be on the ground and you had to be in contact with at least 1 other member of your team at all times.
It was great seeing all the different strategies teams used to cross the river.

We very quickly realised that communication was key.

Maths in P4

Primary 4 have been learning about measure this term in maths. This week we began practising measuring volume and reading scales. We estimated how much 100ml and 500ml were and then checked our estimations.
