Interest Stations in P4

This week Primary 4 started their interest stations. In these the pupils lead their learning in small groups. They used their collaboration and communication skills to plan out what they want to learn and how they are going to do it. For this block the pupils have chosen to do stop motion animation, art and Hama beads. Lots of creativity, collaboration and communication skills being used!

Circuit building in P7/6

P7/6 were learning about circuits in science this week. We can now identify the symbols that represent all the components in an electrical circuit. We drew our own circuit diagrams using these symbols and were able to identify whether or not the circuits would work based on their components. Most impressively of all we used our critical thinking skills to troubleshoot when things went wrong, identifying the cause of any problems with our circuits and suggesting solutions to fix them.

Shape in P3/2

P3/2 have been learning about 2D, 3D shapes and their properties. We went on a shape hunt around our classroom and discovered many different shapes. We spoke about the different shapes we see every day in our daily life and then participated in a range of activities to consolidate our knowledge of 2D and 3D shapes.

Congratulations to our award winners. We love celebrating the talents, skills and achievements of our pupils at Longridge Primary.

Congratulations to these children for earning a golden coin to spend at our book vending machine. Enjoy reading your new books, you deserve them after your literacy achievements.

Remembrance

P7/6 did a wonderful job of leading our Remembrance assembly this morning. They shared their poppy promises and those from all of our other classes on our Remembrance wall. They also shared some artwork, Remembrance poetry and information about the origins of Remembrance Day and why we wear a poppy while wearing their poppies with pride. Our resident piper played after our minute of silence, we are so lucky to have such a talented musician in our school! Thank you very much to those families who came to commemorate the day with us, we really appreciate it.
