P3/2 and P4 Benchball

P3/2 and P4 have been learning how to play Benchball. Over the past weeks, they have been developing throwing, passing and movement techniques. Today they applied what they had learned and played their first game of Benchball. It was great to see both classes communicating and collaborating in their teams, as well as the sportsmanship from others.

Burns Celebration

Thank you to the families who joined us for our Burns Celebration. We have continued the celebrations into this week with recitals of A Dug, A Dug in assembly. Well done to all of our very talents pupils for showing courage when performing to an audience.

Messy fun

The afterschool slime club had great fun today making oobleck. We were all amazed at the texture and consistency of oobleck. It’s a non Newtonian fluid that acts as both a solid and a liquid. It it’s made from cornflour and water-simple!

Sorry for the messy clothes. It will wash off easily.

P3/2 ‘cannae’ stop singing!

P3/2 have been learning about Robert Burns this week in preparation for our school assembly. We linked this learning to our new class topic, Scotland. We have enjoyed learning lots of different aspects and we are looking forward to learning lots more. This week we focused on the Scots language and used this to create pop art inspired by Scots words. As part of our assembly preparations we have been learning the song “Ye cannae Shove Yer Granny Aff the Bus”. We’ve been loving the song so much that we broke into song during our Scot word art lesson!

Science in P4

This term in science, Primary 4 are learning about electricity. We discussed what we use electricity for in our everyday lives and how we keep ourselves safe when using electricity. We then looked at what is in a circuit and built a simple circuit.

P4 used our collaboration and critical thinking skills to create circuits and problem solve when they weren’t working. We looked at what makes a closed circuit and a broken circuit.
