P2/1 have measure the weight of all sorts of things this week, including their snacks and even themselves! The P1s are learning to use vocabulary like heavy, heavier, heaviest and light, lighter, lightest. They have learned that when two things weigh the same the scales are balanced.
P2s have been learning that we use grams and kilograms to measure weight. They have weighed things like shoes, calculators and books with a digital scale, and were very surprised by some of the amounts!

P3/2 have enjoyed developing their communication, collaboration and critical thinking skills during Building Thinking Classroom tasks. We worked together on different problems and worked collaboratively using our thinking skills to solve the problem.

In Primary 4, we have been learning about tessellation. We have been investigating why some shapes can fit together to create patterns and other shapes. This week, we were learning how to make shapes with other shapes. The pupils were using their collaborating and communication skills working in their small groups. They were using critical thinking to come up with different ways to make a rhombus and a hexagon using different shapes.

P7/6 have been learning to write ‘daringly detailed descriptions’. We have created our own describing bubble to help us with vocabulary to add detail into our descriptions of setting and character, making them more immersive. We have taken a stroll through a tropical rainforest, described some familiar characters and this week, combined both. We have written some excellent descriptions about arriving at Hogwarts or experiencing a safari through Africa!
