The children are ‘tres bien’ at speaking French in P2/1! This week Camenbear visited our classroom to help us learn how to chat to people we meet. Everybody had fun bringing lots of soft-toy friends on a make-believe aeroplane, and Pilot Camenbear flew us to France to practice our new words and phrases! We said ‘Bonjour’ and ‘comment ca va?’ to friends we met, and they answered with ‘bien merci!’ or ‘ca va mal’ before everyone said ‘au revoir’ and got back on the plane home to Longridge.

We applied our knowledge of place value to complete a range of different activities. We collaborated in groups of 3 and rotated around each station applying our knowledge of partitioning numbers, ordering numbers, using dienes to make 3 and 4 digit numbers, greater than and less than.

The children enjoyed another cooking lesson with Alex from Fauldhouse Community Development Trust and soup was on the menu this week! It was a fantastic opportunity to develop skills in chopping as well as learning how to bring a liquid to boiling.

What an amazing bunch of children we have at Longridge Primary school. It is always a pleasure to hear about their achievements and successes.
This month our Head Teacher Awards were awarded to the following children and they enjoyed their hot chocolate treat!

Our Wider Achievement certificates were awarded for talents in dancing, boxing and swimming, amongst others.

Finally, our golden coin winners who have shown excellent progress in literacy this month are below.

In true Longridge Primary School fashion, the children were supportive of their peers and siblings, showing pride and kindness to each other.
