Marty the Robot

P3/2 kicked off science week with some outdoor learning using Marty the Robot. We worked collaboratively using our critical thinking skills on how to get Marty the Robot from one side of the MUGA to the other using different movements. Each group then decided to race their Marty the Robot. We had so much fun we have asked Miss Smith if we can learn more about Marty and Programming!

Our P6/7 STEM leads then planned and delivered a science experiment. We made predictions about what we thought would happen and worked as a team to carry the experiment out!

Royal Scottish National Orchestra Visit

P2/1 had a wonderful time at a very special concert in Glasgow Royal Concert Hall this week. Children were able to experience Scotland’s top class orchestra playing live music, with acting and animation helping to create a really immersive experience for them.

The performance told the story of Yoyo, a young Scottish girl, as she explores multicultural themes and shows kindness and care to everyone. Children said “I loved the songs”, “My favourite bit was when she raced her boke, it was exciting”, “I loved the cosy cuddles with her teddy.” Experiences like this support our health and wellbeing conversations in school, and help children to recognise the rights of others.

As you can see from the happy faces in the photos, the class had a ball!

Little Chefs

Our Little Chefs lunchtime club was popular this week, with pizzas on the menu! The children enjoyed preparing their own pizza and decorating pizza boxes.

World Book Day Parade

What an incredible effort from everyone this morning at our World Book Day parade, it was a fantastic start to our celebrations. Can you spot your favourite Julia Donaldson character from our staff?

Zones of Regulation

P2/1 have been learning about the Zones of Regulation. This fantastic system helps children understand their emotions and take control of their choices. Primary 2 children used their experience to introduce the 4 different zones to the primary 1 and nursery children, explaining how they feel, what can help, and linking everything the the Colour Monster story that both classes know and love. The children developed important talking and listening skills during the presentations such as speaking loudly and clearly to the audience, and using visual prompts to support understanding.
