Lockerbie Day 2

Day 2 at Lockerbie we had a very busy day yesterday filled with lots of fun. The groups had a chance to participate in archery, axe throwing, an obstacle course, problem solving games and we finished the night off with a camp fire last night with some toasted marshmallows.

5 Ways of Well-being Healthy Cafe

Our Health and Well-being Mini Champs hosted a healthy cafe this morning. During this they shared the 5 ways of well-being and the ways our school promote the 5 ways of well-being.

Wellbeing Week

This year our pupils voted to spend our Participatory Budget on Wellbeing Training for children. Our pupils have completed the training and are now Wellbeing Ambassadors. The first role for Wellbeing Ambassadors was to create a plan to ensure all children learned about The Five Ways To Wellbeing. They planned a Wellbeing Week for all children to enjoy. Each activity linked to one of The Five Ways To Wellbeing below.

CONNECT – Children were given a ‘connect’ pack to take home to promote discussion with parents. We hope you enjoyed this opportunity to relax and chat!

Keep Learning – Children had the opportunity to learn a new skill this week during Hobby Time and had opportunities to book into two hobbies including singing, dancing, painting, clay, bracelet making and baking.

Active – There were lots of opportunities to be active this week. Each class enjoyed a Gymnastics lesson as well as have a go on the smoothie bike! The silent disco and outdoor learning opportunities were enjoyed by lots of children as fun ways to keep active.

Take Notice – All children had an opportunity to develop mindfulness during a yoga workshop. Taking notice of nature was a real highlight during our Forest Schools Sessions. Children practised mindfulness outside too.

Give – Children had opportunities to make something to give to someone else. These children made kindness boxes full of lovely messages for someone else. How thoughtful!

We hope all of our pupils have enjoyed their Wellbeing Week and have developed their understanding of how to look after their Wellbeing.

Cake Decorating Skills

As our cake decorating after school club comes to end, we are proud of the skills our young people have developed over the past few weeks.

Last week we were creative with an under the sea theme. This week we learned how to make cheeky Easter themed cakes.

Cake Decorating Week 3

Can you believe how talented our pupils are? Look at these skills after only three lessons! This week we learned how to use flower paste and how to use buttercream to ice a cake.
