Writing in P6/5

P6/5 have started their first genre of writing this year. Learners will read and write descriptive pieces this term. This week the children wrote their ‘cold piece,’ (a chance to demonstrate what they know already about writing descriptions). This is a great way to identify strengths and areas for improvement and to track progress over the next few weeks. The children are looking forward to ‘bumping up’ their work as they learn how to include more descriptive words and phrases in their pieces. This week they enjoyed writing about a popular film character.

Kids gone wild!

P7/6 had a great time today learning outdoors with Rob from ‘Kids Gone Wild’. We evaluated how confident we felt about learning outdoors before our session today and will return to our ratings after the next session to see how our confidence has grown. We problem solved, collaborated, used our critical thinking skills and the ever important school value, perseverance!

Sports Day

It wasn’t quite the outdoor event we had planned but we had a great afternoon regardless of the weather! The children had fun competing for house points, their enthusiasm and sportsmanship was outstanding as always. Thank you to our wonderful teachers and parent volunteers who helped to make this event a success.

Lockerbie Day 2

Day 2 at Lockerbie we had a very busy day yesterday filled with lots of fun. The groups had a chance to participate in archery, axe throwing, an obstacle course, problem solving games and we finished the night off with a camp fire last night with some toasted marshmallows.
