Wellbeing Ambassadors

Introducing our new Wellbeing Ambassadors. Our participatory budget was spent on a Wellbeing Training Program for children. We have had a great afternoon learning the Five Ways to Wellbeing and look forward to planning ways to teach the rest of the school about this.

We learned the importance of being active to improve our wellbeing.

We enjoyed some mediation and a hot drink to calm our brain and to take notice of how we feel.

We practised gratitude.

We helped to shape the role of Wellbeing Ambassadors at Longridge Primary School.

Building Thinking Classroom

In P3/2 we have been developing a thinking classroom. During maths we have been working on solving different problems using our critical thinking, collaborating and communication skills whilst using Math Talk Moves – Turn and Talk and Wait Time. Today P3/2 co-created our success criteria, which helps us understand how to be successful in a task. Miss Smith was super impressed we came up with all of these by ourselves. We then used our success criteria to successfully solve the problem.

P3/2 Fruit Kebabs

In class we learned all about how to safely and correctly prepare food. We focused on the importance of washing our hands and surfaces before making our own fruit kebabs. We also learned how to correctly cut fruit safely. We had lots of fun and enjoyed eating our fruit kebabs.

SUPERWORM WORMERIES

In class we have been doing lots of activities in literacy and science based on Superworm. To finish off our mini topic we decided to learn about wormeries and their purpose. We then took our learning outdoors and created our own ‘wormeries’.

Technology

This week P3/2 developed their use of ICT with the help of 4 amazing P6/5 helpers. As a class we logged into our own laptops and learned how to research information. We then created our own fact files on Robert Burns.
