Numeracy

This week in numeracy, P7 moved onto division. We used active learning to practise our previous knowledge of division; making arrays, chunking method and short division. We practised our multiplication facts to help us understand the inverse operation. We have been using our communication and collaboration skills to play games to practise our division strategies.

Superworm

We have had a great start to Term 3! In class we have been taking part in a book study. We chose ‘Superworm’ by Julia Donaldson. During literacy we have made predictions, created questions for the author, clarified words we were unsure of and summarised the most important parts. We then created character profiles and wrote our own animal poems. Yesterday in Science we took part in a science experiment called ‘Dancing Worms’. We made predictions about which liquid would make the worms dance and then worked collaboratively to carry out the experiment and write up a report.

Our School Choir

It was a pleasure to take our school choir to Answer House to spread some festive cheer to the elderly people there. Their beautiful singing was appreciated and they were even asked for an encore!
