P3/2 Fruit Kebabs

In class we learned all about how to safely and correctly prepare food. We focused on the importance of washing our hands and surfaces before making our own fruit kebabs. We also learned how to correctly cut fruit safely. We had lots of fun and enjoyed eating our fruit kebabs.

SUPERWORM WORMERIES

In class we have been doing lots of activities in literacy and science based on Superworm. To finish off our mini topic we decided to learn about wormeries and their purpose. We then took our learning outdoors and created our own ‘wormeries’.

Technology

This week P3/2 developed their use of ICT with the help of 4 amazing P6/5 helpers. As a class we logged into our own laptops and learned how to research information. We then created our own fact files on Robert Burns.

Music

P3/2 explored a range of different musical instruments. We used the instruments to go along with the chant from Superworm. Superworm is super long. Superworm is super strong. Watch him wiggle, see him squirm. HIP HIP HOORAY FOR SUPERWORM. Great work P3/2!

The Wilderness War

P5/4 have had a great first week back at school. We have begun our book study on ‘The Wilderness War’ by Julia Green, where Noah and his friends try to save ‘the wilderness’ from being used as land for housebuilding. So far we have learned about native trees, risk assessment, used our reciprocal reading strategies to help us answer questions on the book and held a debate. The motion for our debate involved housebuilding on our own ‘wilderness’ in Easter Longridge Wood. There was some great skills on show and some compelling arguments from both sides ending with a vote.
