P3/2 ‘cannae’ stop singing!

P3/2 have been learning about Robert Burns this week in preparation for our school assembly. We linked this learning to our new class topic, Scotland. We have enjoyed learning lots of different aspects and we are looking forward to learning lots more. This week we focused on the Scots language and used this to create pop art inspired by Scots words. As part of our assembly preparations we have been learning the song “Ye cannae Shove Yer Granny Aff the Bus”. We’ve been loving the song so much that we broke into song during our Scot word art lesson!

Pupil Participation Groups

Today we collaborated in our house groups and discussed key themes that relate to ‘How Good is Our School’. We discussed each statement and grouped them into what is working well in our school and areas for development. We then discussed how we could improve the areas for development.

P3/2 Art

P3/2 have been learning about the Antarctica and Arctic Animals.

We linked our learning to the Global Goals ‘Life on Land’ and ‘Life below Water’. We learned about its unique climate, the animals that live there and how their special adaptations help them survive in such conditions. We used a variety of different materials and textures to create polar bears. We then applied our knowledge of information report writing and created information reports all about polar bears.

Christmas Fun in P3/2

Tessellation

P3/2 have enjoyed exploring shapes this week and have been learning to use different shapes to create tessellation patterns. We used our critical thinking skills to decided which shapes we could use to tile and what shapes would not be good as they would leave gaps. We then used our creativity to create different pictures.
